Paranotica is a curated marketplace and showcase for handmade art and oddities. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. If you have any questions, email t@paranotica.com.

What we collect

If you sign up as an artist, we keep the details you give us on the form: your artist or studio name, your email address, and, if you add them, your Instagram and TikTok handles, your website and what you tell us about your work. We also record the date you signed up and that you confirmed your work fits our guidelines.

If you create an account, we keep your email address and a securely scrambled version of your password. We never store your actual password. If you save Favorites, tap “I'd buy this” or message an artist, we keep a record of that too.

If you use our contact form, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply to you.

If you report a problem, we keep your name, email address, what you tell us, any screenshot you add, the page address you give us, and which browser and device you were using, so we can find and fix the problem and reply to you.

If you flag a piece, we keep the reason, anything you add, which browser and device you used, and your account if you're signed in. Flags are only seen by the Paranotica team and aren't shared with the artist.

If you join as an artist, we keep your artist page details and the work, photos and videos you upload, and we record when you agreed to our Terms of Use and Human-Made Pledge.

When you visit the site, our server keeps basic technical logs such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these to keep the site running and to block spam and abuse.

We also count visits to our public pages and note which website or shared link sent visitors to us. These counts are anonymous. They don't use cookies and aren't tied to you. If you sign up, we save the link that brought you to the form so we know which posts are working.

How we use it

If you message an artist, your message is shared with that artist, and when they reply by email they'll see your email address.

If you request a commission, your name, email address, request, messages and any files you upload are shared with that artist so they can make your piece. Paranotica's team can also view commission conversations to help with support, safety or disputes.

We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing email to people who haven't asked for it.

Who else handles it

We use a trusted cloud provider to host the site, store our data and send email on our behalf. They process information only to provide those services to us. We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

We only use the cookies the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting forms from abuse. We don't use advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email t@paranotica.com from the address you signed up with, and we'll take care of it. We keep sign-up details until you ask us to remove them or we no longer need them.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When something is deleted, whether a piece, a photo or a whole account, it's removed from the site straight away. Copies in our private backups are deleted within 15 days. Records we're required to keep by law, such as order records once purchasing opens, are kept only as long as required.

Children

Paranotica is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn we have, we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
